Mexican young people who are in age of attending college represent a fourth of total population. However, multiple studies show a segment of the population that, according to some people, is lethargic, isolated and without a promising future. This study aims to break through these assertions and analyze another perspective on the situation. We will light the complex process of mass communication and see how young audiences have migrated from spectators to actors involved in social and political life of their community; all that framed by the reform process taking place in our country, and in which the new Telecommunications Act requires us to make a thorough assessment of the role of the mass media in shaping citizenship.References
