Abstract

Durante la dictadura militar del Brasil (64-85) el humorismo se reveló como el instrumento más eficaz para sortear la férrea censura gubernamental, tendiendo un puente de complicidades entre la prensa amordazada y sus lectores. Solo los caricaturistas de los grandes periódicos y el semanario satírico Pasquín, lograban publicar sus críticas más o menos veladas a la dictadura y señalar las fallas del "milagro"" brasileño. Esta complicidad con el lector, salpicada de códigos y sobreentendidos alimentada por la unanimidad contra la represión, fue el secreto del éxito de ZIRALDO, quizá el más importante caricaturista brasileño."
