Abstract

La Primera Conferencia Mundial sobre Radios comunitarias realizada en 1983 dio lugar a la creación de la Asociación Mundial de radios Comunitarias -AMARC-. El Nuevo Orden Mundial de la Información y las comunicaciones se pronunció por TODAS LAS VOCES: las de cada nación, cada cultura, cada sangre y todos los hombres y mujeres del mundo marcó la brecha existente entre Occidente liderado por Estados Unidos y los países en desarrollo más el Movimiento de los no alineados. La democratización de la Radio, hacer uso de su potencial como medio para el cambio social y el desarrollo cultural, se imponían. El texto hace alusión al trabajo desarrollado por AMARC.
