Abstract

La fiel reproducción digital de música, imágenes y textos es parte de la cotidianidad tecnológica. Este ensayo no explora las fronteras de la ciencia ni las primicias de la ingeniería. Sin embargo, hace sentir el futuro emergente de las formas de uso del texto puro, irremplazable. Interesa su estilo, su capacidad para evocar el asombro ante el ingenio industrial y apuntalar la fe en la palabra. El futuro de la palabra compactada en CD está mucho más del lado del hipertexto que del hipermedia, y más específicamente en dos campos bien precisos: el de las enciclopedias y el de la literatura.
