La política, los deportes y la seguridad copan los informativos de la televisión ecuatoriana

Esta investigación acerca de la composición temática de los informativos de la televisión ecuatoriana se apoya en la teoría de la agenda setting, según la cual “las personas tienden a incluir o a excluir de sus propios conocimientos lo que los medios incluyen o excluyen de su propio contenido”. Conocer la conformación de los espacios informativos, las temáticas, el origen de la información y las fuentes permite develar los criterios editoriales y fomentar la transparencia hacia el público. Para ello, se tabularon 503 piezas informativas entre el 16 de abril y el 18 de mayo de 2012 de los informativos principales de las estaciones Ecuador TV, Ecuavisa, Teleamazonas y Telerama. También se realizaron entrevistas a un director de noticias y a un periodista. Los televidentes ecuatorianos reciben mayor información de temas relacionados con la política, el deporte, la administración de justicia y la seguridad.
