Abstract

La acelerada implantación del Internet en buena parte del mundo y las oportunidades que éste ofrece para el acceso a fuentes ilimitadas de información, ha despertado gran entusiasmo en diversos sectores que pretenden que, gracias a estas tecnologías, habrá mayor equidad en el acceso a la información y al conocimiento, se mejorará la calidad de la educación, se profundizará la participación democrática y se acortarán las brechas del desarrollo. Aborda también: la Economía y geopolítica de las NTIC, la lógica ciudadana las redes en América Latina y la Web y la visibilidad.
