Abstract

En América Latina y otras regiones, la libertad de expresión es vulnerada constantemente, afectando tanto a periodistas como a ciudadanos que protestan contra políticas gubernamentales. Los Estados recurren al acoso legal y la fuerza pública, acusando a los manifestantes de delitos para reprimir sus voces. Comunicadores también sufren intimidación, violencia e incluso asesinatos por su labor informativa. Esta edición de la Revista Chasqui aborda esta realidad, destacando la importancia de un periodismo ético y comprometido con la verdad y la ciudadanía, que ofrezca narrativas desde lo local y cuestione el poder, en un contexto donde muchos medios se han convertido en voceros de élites, silenciando la represión y la lucha por los derechos.
