Abstract

El periodismo científico como servicio público implica que sus profesionales tengan la responsabilidad de velar por el progreso y bienestar social, derivados de los avances de la ciencia, la tecnología y de la I+D. El conocimiento de las fuentes facilita al periodista científico para acudir a los profesionales más indicados y disponer, así de mejor documentación en cada caso concreto. El objetivo final es dar al ciudadano una información rigurosa, comprensible y atractiva que le ofrezca los elementos de juicio suficientes para que pueda elaborar su propia opinión.
