Abstract

Se asevera en el artículo que una democracia será incompleta si los ciudadanos siguen careciendo de los conocimientos y de la información para participar de modo consciente y reflexivo en la dirección de la sociedad. Hay una dependencia mutua entre ciencia y democracia, y esto solo puede resolverse adecuadamente mediante la comunicación. Los medios de comunicación comparten con la ciencia y la educación la sugestiva y arriesgada función de producir y sistematizar la información y el conocimiento para el público.
