The challenges of integration and pluralism: the national and regional press in Chile

The purpose of the research, whose results are presented below, is to understand the role played by the professional practice of journalists in ensuring the pluralism in two specific contexts: the national press and the regional press in the south in Chile. It was sampled five national and three newspapers of the southern region, to which an analysis matrix based on the criteria of newsworthiness and work with journalists sources was applied to define the nature of the final result of journalistic work: the news. Here the most important research results are presented.References
