Abstract

Los latinoamericanos podemos con toda justicia reivindicar para nosotros un papel importante en la revisión del concepto de Desarrollo y también del concepto del papel que la Comunicación ejerce en dicho proceso. En efecto, después de años de ingenua sumisión intelectual a los modelos de pensamiento que nos venían de Europa y de los Estados Unidos, algunos latinoamericanos como Roque Faraone, Eliseo Verón, Antonio Pasquali, Armando Mattelart, Ariel Dorffman, Mario Kaplun, Luis Ramiro Beltrán, Héctor Schumucler, Hugo Assmann, y otros, colocaron contra el paredón -o por lo menos bajo el lente del microscopio teorías, comportamientos y sistemas institucionales de comunicación que nos habían sido impuestos mientras duraban nuestra inocencia y nuestra pasividad."
