Abstract

El presente artículo analiza la dinámica de los medios de la diáspora y su potencial intercultural en la Columbia Británica (Canadá), centrándose en los periódicos latinoamericanos. Se parte del marco general de las políticas multiculturales en Canadá para demostrar que los principios normativos que deben regular y promover el diálogo intercultural a través de los medios de comunicación no se cumplen en la práctica debido a los imperativos sociales, políticos y económicos.
