Abstract

El autor plantea una revisión crítica sobre el statu-quo que históricamente se adjudica al ceremonial y protocolo como actividad codificada y por ende, accesible y comprensible para sectores sociales iniciados y ligados al poder. También propone una revalorización de la potencialidad del ceremonial si se le impulsa un rol comunicacional y pedagógico y se lo convierte en un instrumento en favor de la transformación social y la democratización. Reafirma que las ceremonias son expresión de una necesidad social, que se concreta en conductas tales como cantar el himno nacional. Rendir honores a la bandera y demás símbolos patrios, orar, manifestar cortesía, distinciones, tributar homenajes, expresar amistad o afectos. Así el ceremonial debe trascender las meras formalidades protocolares para reflejar maneras y razones de vivir.
