Abstract

El autor refiere lo ocurrido en el festival internacional UMBRIAFICTION TV. 92 dedicado a producciones de ficción orientadas al mercado televisivo mundial. Cita el enfrentamiento de fuerzas entre Europa y Estados Unidos en pos de ganar audiencias y mercados para sus industrias de cine y video. Relata lo que fue la llegada del neoliberalismo a Brasil con Collor de Melo donde las medidas que se tomaron en el área cultural fueron nefastas. Concluye con que hay necesidad de reivindicar socialmente el derecho de acceso a un espacio audiovisual democrático, abierto a las más legítimas aspiraciones del ser humano.
