Una lectura crítica de mensajes, textos y discursos sociales ocupa un lugar importante en todos los procesos denominados como Comunicación Popular Educativa, que en Colombia intentan ejercer una "práctica comunicacional en el interior de los sectores populares para transoformación cualitativa de las condiciones sociales existentes"". Prácta que se desarrolla con la mediación de instituciones dedicadas a tales fines."
