Abstract

Dos reuniones que, auspiciadas por la UNESCO, fueron celebradas recientemente en Canadá, han centrado su atención en asuntos que el segundo movimiento feminista incluye entre sus principales objetivos: igualdad de oportunidad para la mujer en los medios y apoyo de los medios a la autonomía femenina. El hecho de que esto siga planteándose en un país como Canadá indica que muchas de nosotras fuimos hace diez años optimistas en exceso al creer que es fácil cambiar prácticas de trabajo profesionales que han venido desarrollándose durante más de un siglo. Gloria Steinem observa en el número de "MS Magazine"" publicado para festejar el aniversario de esta revista: ""La meta de la Segunda Ola ha sido la igualdad legal y social."
