Abstract

Inicios de los años 70 ya se habían confirmado tres líneas fundamentales de acción en el CIESPAL: La capacitación de los periodistas latinoamericanos, desde los que cubrían deporte hasta los que divulgaban la ciencia; la concepción sociológica de la comunicación social, articulando las diferentes profesiones consagradas en el área; y la fundamentación de la investigación en América Latina, con el CIESPAL como polo aglutinador de las metodologías y técnicas funcionalistas. La autora en su condición de becaria en esa época y de investigadora luego, hace un recorrido crítico sobre estas líneas de acción y sus implicaciones en el ámbito de la comunicación latinoamericana.
