Abstract

En una época de acelerados procesos de privatización y reducción del Estado, la televisión pública de América Latina, enfrenta el inevitable dilema de renovarse o morir. El autor analiza la crisis por la que atraviesan la mayoría de canales privados de la región, algunos intentos de reforma y propone tres elementos básicos para que esta sea adecuada y permita su supervivencia: una política nacional de Estado, una programación televisiva según las necesidades y expectativas de la audiencia y un nuevo esquema de gestión-administrativa.
