Abstract

Las autoras analizan los antecedentes, algunos aspectos y los problemas que han hecho del conductismo una herramienta polémica y cuestionada, tanto en los Estados Unidos como en América Latina. También examinan las áreas donde la investigación y las experiencias han utilizado la teoría conductista en América Latina, durante los últimos veinticinco años y han contribuido al mejoramiento del bienestar de las poblaciones. Plantean la aplicación de las técnicas conductistas, dentro del contexto de la promoción y protección de la salud articuladas a la participación activa de la población.
