Abstract

El autor tiene un año como ombudsman del diario HOY. Lo que sigue está escrito, sobre todo a partir de esa experiencia, e intenta desarrollar una reflexión de la Defensoría del Lector, subordinada a discusión y poner en la balanza las ventajas y los límites de su tarea. Es decir, trazar los perfiles de una institución relativamente nueva en los medios de comunicación. Habla de la independencia del defensor del lector, el estatuto que debe regir y la función crítica de este intermediario.
