Abstract

La necesidad de impulsar redes nacionales de información y de orientar el desarrollo del Internet latinoamericano en función de las necesidades propias de la región, figuraron entre los principales desafíos planteados en el Foro Permanente de Redes de América Latina y el Caribe, (1996) El evento resaltó que esta tecnología, puede contribuir a coartar la brecha tecnológica e informativa y tiene un potencial democratizador.
