Abstract

A medida que avanza el decenio, la popularidad de ciertos conceptos que hacen referencia a una presunta revolución pacífica generada por las "nuevas"" tecnologías de la información y la comunicación aumenta cada vez más. A juzgar por lo que se afirma reiteradamente, las ""autopistas electrónicas"" son la fórmula que erradicará definitivamente de las sociedades el desempleo, las penurias, el analfabetismo y la dominación. No obstante muchos de los presupuestos sobre los que se sustenta este mito son abiertamente insostenibles, o al menos es lo que el autor pretende demostrar aquí."
